CROSSBRED HORSES. TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— lt is a mistake to suppose that the crossbred zebra-horse which is being exhibited in Auckland is the only cross of its kind ever known. It is fully 45 years since I loft Scotland, and some years before that I know a mare ■was served by a zebra at the Earl of Morten’s place in Midlothian and the foal showed plainly what its parentage was. More, everty foal which the mare subsequently had, though not stinted by a zebra, showed plainly the marks of the zebra.—l am, etc., A Late Midlothian Farmer. Dunedin, March 27.
