OTAGO v. SOUTH OTAGO. The return, match between an Otago team and South Otago was played at Balclutha on Saturday, the game resulting in a win for Otago by 18 matches to 6, and 171 games to 116. The fixture was arranged when the South Otago representatives visited Dunedin on March 18. on which occasion the game was interrupted by bad weather, much to the disappointment of both sides. Owing to the unsuitable train arrangements the Otago players had to journey to Balclutha on. Friday afternoon, and during their stay they were treated with the greatest hospitality, a thoroughly enjoyable dance being arranged for them on the night of their arrival. The next morning the weather cleared up sufficiently to enable play to be started, and, contrary to tho experience of the previous Saturday, the match was satisfactorily completed. The day’s play proved thoroughly enjoyable to all" (akiinr part, and although.Otago gained a substantial victory many of tho games were very closely contested, some of the younger local players showing very promising form. The Dunedin team was captained bv Mr Manson, and the South Otago side by by Mr Mira ms. The detailed results were as follows, tho names of the Dunedin players being mentioned first:— MEN’S DOUBLES.- Manson and Jensen lost to Mirams and R. ('. Moore, 5—9; Wilkinson and Fulton beat, M’Auley and E. Moore, 9-1; Allan and Sluter beat Ross and Barnett, 9—6 LADIES’ DOUBLES. —Misses M’Adam and Duthie lost to Mrs Lewis and Miss Malcolm. 4—6; Misses Barclay and Sander son heat Misses (inlanders and Walker. 6-5; M isses Alexander and Rein beat Misses Nichols arid Alexander, 6 —3. MEN’S SINGLES. —Manson Inst to Mirams, 7—9; Wilkinson boat M’Auloy, 9—6: Jensen beat R. C. Moore. 9—7; Slater lost to E.
