At the annual meeting of the Harbour Board the chairman stated that the board had paid off tho debit which existed at the beginning of tho year, and had mot all expenses, and started the current year with a clean sheet. There was no antoeiT’enl, liability to wipe off. •cternng to the board's housing scheme tor employees (eight houses have been built), me chairman said that it, was gcncraflv admitted that the scheme was the best in tho dominion. Apparently the houses cost £2oo to £3OO less than in other centres.
