The vessel is to get away from Wellington on March 90 for Boston, New York, and London. MISHAP TO CANADIAN SPINNER. H. L. Tapley add Co. have received advice from the steamer Canadian Spinner, en route from Auckland to Wellington, stating that a defect had occurred in the vessel’s steering gear, and she wae putting back to Auckland. The vessel, which is cargo-laden from New York, loft Auckland et 5 p.m. on Monday for Wellington. She arrived back at the northern port on Tuesday afternoon. As a result of the mishap the Canadian Spinner is not expected at Wellington before next Monday or Tuesday, consequently she will not arrive m Dunedin till the end of next week. DEVON FROM NEW YORK. The Federal steamer Devon, 9661 tons, arrived at Auckland from New York and Newport News on Tuesday morning to discharge 1309 tons of general cargo for the iNew Zealand Shipping Company. She has also 800 lons fox Wellington, and the balance of 7500 tons for - Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. She left New York on February 12, arriving at Newport News on the 13th to load tobacco and general cargo and fill bunkers. On the 16th, the morning of clearing, a very heavy snow blizzard was experienced. After passing through the Panama Canal the steamer cleared Balboa on February 23. A stop was mads at Pitcairn on the Bth, and the islanders boarded the thip and traded! fruit for clothes. The vessel was hove to for two hours, and took on board a bag of mail before continuing to Auckland. Good weather was experienced until about a week ago, when a strong wind sprang up with a heavy swell from the south-west. Captain H. W. Gardner is in command.
