GAELIC SOCIETY
The usual monthly meeting of the Gaelic Society was held last evening in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Stuart street. There was a good attendance of Highlanders, and Gaelic songs wore much in evidence. Chieftains Colin APKenzie, Roderick M'Kcnzie, Kenneth Cameron, and William Duncan occupied seats on the platform. Chieftain Colin APKenzie being the principal spokesman. Bard Al'Fodycn opened the musical programme with a Gaelic song entitled “Fear dim”; Mrs Aluckay saug a Gaelic, song, “Chuir iud an ( suit a. Pilot,” and another; Mr Kennedy a Gaelic song, “O Sheann a duan so; Alisa Kennedy a Gaelic song, “Cait an caidil anribhinn”: Air Forrest a Gaelic song, “Leis an Lurjuinn” and ‘,‘Gur Gile mo Leannnn.” Mr Dan Matheson and Chieftain Kenneth Cameron also sang a Gaelic song. Miss Kennedy sang “Bonnie Prince Charlie.’’ "Aft,on .Water, and “When the Kye Como Hame” ; Mr Gunn, “Young Tom O’Devon,” and, to an encore, “You Will Get Heaps of Lickins.” Miss Moore danced a fling and a seanntruibhais; Miss Alima. Alunro a seanntruibhais; and Aliss Georgina Alunro a fling, and Miss APKenzie a fling. Air .George Alunro’ supplied tho national music, and Aliss Kennedy was accompanist. Mr Alex. APKenzie was M.C.
