A meeting was held on Saturday to consider the prospects of the men, and it was unanimously decided to invite the Minister of Lands to visit the district with a view to meeting the soldier settlers and inspecting the Glengarry block; the Minister to be requested to introduce legislation amending the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act in order to provide for immediate revaluation and adjustment in the capital value and rent in cases where it is shown to be urgently necessary.
