Robert Daslef. a labourer, of Sydenham, ' has been arrested on a charge of slaughter of Edward Samuel Darrell,' Wh6 ; ' ‘ died in the Christchurch Hosoit&l'on Marti 13. At the inquest on Darrell early in the week it transpired that the deceased was found lying at the back of the Open House on the evening of March 6.
