Theunis (Minister of Finance), in a statement in the Chambej' regarding the Cannes Conference welcomed with joy the Anglo-Belgian agreement. He added that Belgium had agreed to do'her best' to ensure her own defence, but she could not repulse a German attack unaided.—A. and N.Z. Cable. .
