THE HERMIT OF MILFORD SOUND TO THJ'. iCDITOR. Sin. —I have only just seen Dr Gordon Macdonald's letter relative to “The Hermit of Milford Sound.” I regret that Dr Macdonald considers I have failed in any courtesy to him in connection with his article, but if ho had road the heading to the article which, is attached he would have seen the source of my information was fully acknowledged. In addition to the names of the captains of the Government steamers your files were acknowledged also. Unfor tunateiy only the cutting was sent me marked “Otago Daily Timee.” Had I known the author, he too would have been mentioned, I can assure him there was no intention to do him any injustice.—l am et j.
