AMUSEMENTS

A new programme was presented at. the King Edward Theatre yesterday. The leading attraction is a Robertson Colo picture, “Heart of Twenty,” in which Zasu Pitts plays the title role. The excellent support-, mg items include the latest Topical Gazette, a Patho Review, and a Rathe comedy. Elaine Hammerstein in “Poor Dear Margaret Kirby,” arid Gladys Walton in “Desperate Youth,” are the chief features at the Plaza Theatre at present. An interesting and varied supporting list includes topical gazettes and budgets, and the latest episode of the “Bride 13” serial. An entertaining programme, which was screened at the Grand Theatre last night, has as the leading features Elaine Hammerstein in “Poor Dear Margaret Kirby,” and Gladys Walton in “Desperate Youth.” The supports include gazettes and budgets and a new episode of “Bride 13.” “The Faith Healer,” which oan be compared with "The Miracle Man,” was shown for the first time at the Empire Theatre yesterday. A fine series of supports includes a Vanderburgh Exploration film, a Topical Budget, and No. 3 of “The White Horseman” serial.

An enjoyable Madf Sennett comedy entitled “A Small Town Idle” was screened at Everybody’s Theatre yesterday. The picture it a six-part one. and features the Alack Sennett bathing beauties. The supports include a Topical Budget, and the twelfth episode of the “Silent Avenger.” A picture with an Australian atmosphere, “Uudd’s New Selection,” is the star film at the Queen’s Theatre. Excellent supports are also shown. May Allison is seen in “The East, Card” now being shown at the Octagon Theatre. Other features are included in the programme. The recent spell of bad wqfhthcr has been the means of encouraging the pastime of skating, and the Brydone Skating Rink was crowded with patrons on the "rollers” at both sessions yesterday. A plain, masked, and fancy dress carnival will he held on Friday and Saturday next, and this should be an added stimulant to this enjoyable sport.
