GRAND AND PLAZA THEATRES

Another entirely new double-feature programme will be presented at the Grand and plaza Theatres to-day. Shirley Mason will appear in the first feature which is entitled “The Lamplighter.” It is claimed that there is so much of the unusual and unexpected in fho story of “The Lamplighter” that it seems as though William Fox, its producer, starter! out with a purpose to break away from nil the familiar devices of screened narrative. The story is from the pen of Maria Susanna Cummings. William. Russell will appear in tho second feature. “Bare Knuckles,” and of this it is said that those who love the rugged <md the raw, the sheer grip of mu.sclo and sinew where garneness and red blood count, when men are driven to the issue of living or dying, will find plenty to entertain them. In this production Russell is supported by a strong cast. Some particularly fine scenes will be shown of storm scenes in the Sierras. Tho story was written by A. Channing Edington. Prominent among the supporting pictures are Topical Gazettes, a Mutt and .Toff cartoon, a now episode of the “Diamond Queen” serial, and a Century comedy.
