BUTTER AND CHEESE. Messrs Dalgety and 00. report having received the following cable from London, dated 9th iust.: — Butter. —Danish, £ll 16s to £l2 4s. The Government prices are lower by 18s to £l. We quote New Zealand, £ll 6s to £ll 8s; Australian, £8 15s to £lO, 6s. There is no improvement in demand at the reduction. Cheese.—The market is weak still, but rather more inquiry. New Zealand coloured, £5 10s; white, £5 12s; Canadian, finest quality, is offering c.i.f. at £5 9s. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Prtcfl Association--Bv Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, September .12. (Received Sept. 12, at 9.20 p.m.) At the wool sales competition was keen at general rates. Super merinos and fine crossbreds were 5 per cent, higher. Mediums increased 10 per cent., and coarser grades were 5 to 10 per cent firmer. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Dalgety and Co. report; C^ts.—Ei; t for a fair demand for seed lines the market is fairly quiet. A Gartons, 3s to 3a Id; good to best feed, 2s 9d to 2s lid per bushel, sacks extra. Potatoes.—There is some demand for freshly-packed linos, which are saleable at up to £2 15a, but all other sorts are neglected. . . ' Chaff.—The market is quiet. There is some little demand for prime oaten sheaf, but as arrivals am fairly heavy, prices have not finned. Prime oaten sheaf, to £5 7s 6d; good to best feed, £5 to £5 5s per ton, sacks extra. Donald Reid and Co. report; Oats: The market is finji and there is a good inquiry for all lines suitable for milling. A Gartons, 3s Id; B Gartons, 2s lid to 3s, sacks extra. Potatoes—There is a good demand for freshly-picked Up-to-dates. Theee are saleable at £2 12s 6d to £2 15s per ton, ex store, hags in. There is no demand for any lines that ere out of condition and require picking. ’V Chaff.—There is a good demand for prime chaff, £5 Es to £5 7s 6d; medium to good, £4 16a to £5, bags extra. Scott Bros., produce merchants and commission agents, agents for the Egg and Poultry Growers’ Association, Dunedin, report: Eggs: To-day’s prioo, fresh, la sd; Poultry Association, Is 6d per dozen. Butter: Dairy, pats, Is lid per lb. Honey: Prime clover, bulk, 7id to fid per lb; 101 b tins, 7s each. Beeswax, 2s per lb. Eat, 18s to 20s per cwt Poultry: Hens, 5s 6d per pair; ducks, 7» per pair; geese, 9s per pair. Turkeys: Gobblers, Is 2d; hens, Is Id. Pigs: Prime baconers, 9d to 9RLper lb; porkers, 9d per lb; overweights, 4d to 6d per lb. Hams, Is 6d per lb. Bacon, Is id per lb. Potatoes: Quiet; best table sorts, £3 per ton.
