(Peb United Press Association.) FEILDING, September 1. James Jorgensen was to have appeared before the court this morning on a charge of stealing a heifer. Early in the morning a note was found in his gate at Kimbolton stating that his body would bo found in a certain place. Search followed, and the body was found with a rifle alongside it. GISBORNE, September 1. The railway station, was broken into overnight, and several pounds in cash abstracted. WANGANUI, September 1, After a three days’ sitting of the Supreme Oourt, the jury to-night awarded the Abbot Estate £3OO damages in the case against John Calver, a butcher, for not fulfilling the terms of a lease. Twenty-one years ago Calver leased 74 acres, which ho used as a stock paddock. The land was of a very sandy nature, and 20 acres are now sand drift. The fences also are in a state cf disrepair. Plaintiff claimed £BOO damages.
