The president (Mr A. Hanna) occupied the chair. It was reported that the membership now reached 260, and that it was expected to reach 200 before the next show took ‘place. The society expressed ita thanks to the Government Urchardist (Mr Goodwin) for the pruning demonstration given by him under the auspices of the Otago Peninsula Horticultural Society at the orchards of Mr P. W. Shacklock and Mr W. llloy, which these gentlemen kindly placed at the disposal of the society. The society was started to encourage the children of the Peninsula in horticulture, and so far has been eminently successful. All children are allowed to enter their exhibits free, and have also free admission to the show. The treasures reported that the bank pass book shows a credit balance of £3O.
