Trained cats are being employed to set fire to buildings by unscrupulous traders in New York who have suffered heavy losses through the recent fall in prices, and seek to recoup themselves by the proceeds cf heavy insurance policies. Cats are left in a shop or warehouse with a lighted oil lamp surrounded by combustible material, which thev are trained to overturn, thus setting fire" to the building.
