THE TRAMWAY SERVICE.
TO THIS EDITOtt. Sih,—l would like to draw your attention to an action of the tramway department's which, if not sharp practice, is dangerously near it. I think 1 can safely premise that a 2d faro from Cargill's Monument to Albany street lias been unknown before today, yet passengers were demanded this faro to-day. It would bo interesting to know why. True, the notice was up on the car, but any who gave it a thought looked iij)on it as an oversight from the Curisbrook trip. Did passengers on any other section suffer this injustice? and by whoso authority was it pi epet rated?—l am, etc., A. [Upon making inquiries we wore informed that on Saturday "through" care with n minimum fare of 2d were run from Albany street to Carisbrook. On the return journey this fare held good only for the first section—viz., from Cariabrook to the Monument, via Cargill road. If our correspondent was charged' 2d from the Monument to Albany street the conductor must have made a mistake.—Ed. O.D.T.]
