DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. Interest in the share market during the week has been chiefly shown in dealings jn insurance shares, which have been responsible for moat of the turnover. New Zealand Insurances had several sales on Monday at 31s, but were easier yesterday, being finally quoted about 235. South British shares changed owners at 37s 3d, and were quoted yesterday at 36s and 375. National Insurances aro» steady at 60s. Standard Insurances have finned, and found a buyer yesterday at 525, as compared with 51 earlier in the week. In bank stocks the only business passing was in Bank of New Zealand shares, which were secured on Tuesday at 48s 6d. Several of the banks usually quoted have had regular inquiry throughout the week, but sellers have been off the market Very little business has been done in genera] investment lines. Coal shares seem to bt attractive to investors in spite of the uncertainty of the labour position in the industry Westport Coals sold as high oe 27s 3d, and were in demand again at the same price Westport-Stocktons also show some advance for the week, and New Zealand Coal and Od] shares at 2a 9d. New Zealand Refrigerating shares have also shown a firming tendency, the smaller issue being quoted at IGs 3d, and the other at 31s 3d and 335.
