In referring lo the changes in the personnel of tho commissioner officers of the Police Force to-day, the Minister of Justice (the Hon. E. P. Leo) incidentolly mentioned tho retirement of Superintendent Dwyer, of the Christchurch station, after 43 years’ service. Mr Loo said it was with much regret he was not able to attend tho presentation the Christchurch citizens made to Superintendent Dwyer, as tho gathering took place just prior to his return to Now Zealand from Samoa. Superintendent Dwyer, he said, had had a long and honourable career in tho Police Force of the dominion. and in the different capacities in which he had served he had had to deal with many important police matters, and from a knowledge of nis work, he could say that Superintendent Dwyer had- rendered loyal and valuable service to the Police Department and to the dominion. Mr Lee expressed the hope that the retiring superintendent would live long and happily in his well-earned retirement.
