“THE GIRL FROM JAMAICA"
The highly amusing farcial coTnedy, “The Girl froni Jamaica,” which was presented most successfully by tno Duneum Dramatic Society about a fortnight ago, was repeated at His Majesty’s Tneatre last night, when a very good audience greeted the society’s interpretation ot the piece. The proceeds were in aid of St. Paul s Cathedral Garden Fund, which should increase considerably as a .consequence. Major F. H. Dampen, on whom a considerable amount ot the comedy work tell, gave a thoroughly enjoyable interpretation of the fortune-hunting Major Warrener; Mr H. L. Glover, as the curate, acted his part to perfection; and Mr R. Tapley, us Captain Foatherston, ably supported his superior officer. Messrs Dc Spong and .7. Colder, as the hen-pecked husband and the irascible undo respectively, were also most enjoyable; while the ladies Misses K Ulrich L. Park, and V. Wyatt, and Mrs F. H.'Lampen—also played tlieir parts well Excellent incidental music was contributed by the orchestra under the capable conductorship of Mr Helmer Davie.
