A young man named Goudie, of Greenmeadows, was approaching Hastirlgs street from Tennyson street on a motor cycle with side-ear. and being behind a motor car. did not notice an approaching tramcar. In trying to avoid the tramcar his cycle skilled and capsized, and Goudie was caught by the oar and rolled underneath. Motorman Otten, with commendable promptitude, applied the brakes and pulled up in about half a car length. To the amazement of the onlookers Goudie emerged from the tramcar with only n few scratches. Motorman Otten deserves great praise for his coolness and quick action in pulling up the car.
