Business for tho week opened quietly on tho Stock Exchange yesterday, when four parcels of New Zealand Insurances changed hands at tho morning call at 31s. t ln the_ mining! stocks Waihis showed a alight rising tendency, buyers offering 20s 9d and sellers 23s without result. South British Insurance were in demand at 375, but sellers would not quit at less than 37» 6d. The demand for Government debentures still continued at prices on a par with Saturday’s .quotes, but sellers were eoaroe and no business resulted. . , ... Sales: New Zealand Insurance, 31s (4).
