LONDON, August 6. Spain is apparently determined not to follow the advice to clear out of Africa which was freely tendered in the AngloFrench press after the recent reverse at Melilla.
An official Madrid despatch, after admitting the possibility of General Navarro and his troops, who are still holding out at Mountearuil, having to surrender, says that this, however disagreeable, wilk not affect the offensive operations by General Berenzucr, for which sufficient troops are concentrating at Melilla. The recovery of the whole territory which was recently lost is confidently expected. Despatches from Paris, however, show the difficulties ahead. They declare that a mutiny among the recruits on the troopship Valencia while en route to Morocco recently was quelled onlv by the inter vention of two destroyers. The escorting destroyers now train their gun* on troopships crossing the ■Mediterra*' '*■ ji. —Reuter. GENERAL NAVARRO'S TROOPS. RETREATING TO MELILLA. / MADRID, August 7.
