Turnbull will be unable to play on Saturday against North Otago and it is unlikely that he will be able to take part in the match against the Springboks on the following Wednesday. His place will bo taken by Oeary (Southern). Richardson and Hart.y, owing to slight injuries, will also be unable to take part in the game against North Otago, and their places will bo filled by W. Knox (Alhambra! arid A. Patterson (Zingari). The emergencies are: Backs, Hawke and Thomas; forwards, Coombes and Highley.

Messrs W. J. Stead and Isaac Jenkins, the Southland selectors, were present at the match between the Springboks and South Canterbury on Wednesday. They returned to luvorcangdl last evening by the express.
