THE SPRINGBOK? The Springboks passed through Dunedin last night on their way to Invercargill. There was a largo crowd at. the station to meet the first express, and the visitors were heartily cheered as the train to ■ ' ' 11. New 'Zealand team for the first test match at l>unedin on Saturday week, together with the extra players chosen, will assemble in 'W'lotigton to-morrow to proceed south by to-i. anight’s steamier. The whole team is to be in Dunedin on Saturday next to go into training. OTAGO v. NORTH OTAGO. Turnbull will be unable to play on Saturday against North Otago and it is unlikely that he will be able to take part in the match against the Springboks on the following Wednesday. His place will bo taken by Oeary (Southern). Richardson and Hart.y, owing to slight injuries, will also be unable to take part in the game against North Otago, and their places will bo filled by W. Knox (Alhambra! arid A. Patterson (Zingari). The emergencies are: Backs, Hawke and Thomas; forwards, Coombes and Highley.
Messrs W. J. Stead and Isaac Jenkins, the Southland selectors, were present at the match between the Springboks and South Canterbury on Wednesday. They returned to luvorcangdl last evening by the express.
