HARRIERS.

The Pacific Harrier Club held its weekly run from the Bungalow Tea-rooms, >St. Kilda. There was a fair attendance of members, and the Dunedin Club, which was. running from the same place, joined in, and so assisted' to make the outing a, pleasant one. ITie hares {J. J. Grey and Bcrti) laid a good trail, following the beach track and beach towards St. Clair, then round to Second Beach, up the cliff track, passing the “Castle,” skirting the golf links towatxK Burnside, returning' past the goli house, along Ing’s avenue into i’orbury crescent, finishing with a fast sprint along Victoria road. The members were afterwards the guests of the chib’s captain and deputycaptain (Messrs Hill and Mowat). and did justice to the excellent meal provided. Before dispersing, the club's president (Mr O. W. Clark) returned thanks, on behalf of those present, for too pleasant outing and the good meal supplied by the hosts. Next Saturday the club will decide its championship over the cross country course nt Wingatui. _ The Dunedin Hamers held a successful run from the Bungalow Tea Rooms, St. Kilda as guests of Mr A. Cannon. The muster combined with the Pacific Harriers for the run, and so spent a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. • , The Caversham Hamers held their wecidy run from the St. Clair Baths. Paper was dispensed with, and the pack, under the whistle of Deputy-captain Dcnford, pro. ceeded up the hill at tho back of the baths till tho golf links wore reached. Then they followed along (ho road lending to Hamilton's Farm. Here the club held its 220yards’ event, which resulted in W. Wilson securing first place, W. Gibbs second, W. Wonver, third, and H. -Ecclcs fourth. Tho pack then struck over towards the coast till tho caves were reached, circled back

towards Green Island, and then across some good harrier country, coming out over Shields quarry, thence on to'Forbury road. A fast sprint home along this road finished a most enjoyable run. The club will hold it five-mile championship jkt’Wingatui on Saturday next, and will afterwards be entertained by Mrs Beatson. The Cargill Road Methodist Harriers held their run from the Glenavon schoolroom. The trail led up Mechanic street and along Opoho road. A stiff climb up was rewarded by a fine view in all directions. A course w as then taken for the Main North road, which was struck well above the oar terminus, from which all had a good run homo to Chambers str?et The St. Kilda Harriers held their weekly run from the residence of Mr and Mrs S. Thomas, 27 Peter street Cnversham.' The trail, which was laid by S. Thomas and J. Henderson, led over the hills to Main South road, along to Green Island, and off to the left, over some rough country towards Green Island beach. Before reaching the beach, the paper was laid up the beach road, over a stretch of ploughed ground above the caves, and, skirting the golf links, continued down Sidey's Hill on to the road and homo. After a very enjoyable run, the club was entertained nt a ten and social evening, as guests of Mr and Mrs S. Thomas The Civil Service Club ran from the Cnversham Rehool. The hares (Brown and Beorroft) laid a good trail through Burnside to the reservoir and home via Mornington, and were followed bv a good imister of members under the whistle of Captain Henderson.
