TOKIO, July 9. (Received July 10, at 11.5 p.m.) An ex-Minister of Justice is returning from a 10,050-mile trip, in which he spoke on behalf' of disarmament. He stated that if the American (jovernment proposes an international conference to discuss restrictions or disarmament it will surely be the beginning of the solution of all diplomatic questions between Japan and the United States. He added that his audiences overwhelmingly favoured disarmament.—A. and N.Z. Cable.

Cable. A BRAVE DEFENCE. DELHI, July 9. (Received July 11, at 0.40 a.m.) The police made an extraordinarily fine defence at Aligarh during the riots. Only 12 men were available, four of whom were armed. These constables successfully defended the Treasury against a mob of about 2000.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
