QUEEN’S THEATRE
“Dinty” is the title-of the principal picture tlrtit was introduced at the Queen’s Thri'lre yesterday, and with a well-varied series of supporting subjects it provides a thoroughly pleasing evening's entertainment and one that, i- calculated to be well patronised during tbe whole period of its screening. The story opens in the ('hinutown of San Francisco, where Dinty, with a bundle of newspapers under his arm and a stentorian voice, lights the world for a living and speedily makes himself tho newsboy king. And ho is doing it all to help to maintain his old mother who dreams that one day he will make for himself a prominent. place in the world of affairs. One night Dirty picks up a wallet, belonging to Jock North, and returns it to him. thus establishing a curious bond of friendship Ixdween the two. Later, when Nor th’s fiancee. Ruth Whitely, is kidnapped by a gang of -roughs, Dinty purs un a great light, for her. For some time (he activities of an up-to-date band of oninm smugglers have been puzzling the district attorney, in whose cffico North is engaged, and as Dinty. and his gang are perfectly familiar with Chinatown, they are r:inb!ed to do a little detective work in the right, kind of way, and this eventually loads to the breakng up of the nefarious cnera(ions of the gang. From one success Dinty go's on to another, and apart from taking a prominent hand in North’s romance he also runs one of his own. The same programme will he shown again this afternoon and also in the evening.
