The heroine is a child left in infanev with a Chinese, though she is herself of while blood. She is brought up by a notorious dealer in drugs, whom she regards as her father. The Chinaman loves her in her young womanhood, but it is a passion that cannot bo returned, and the young lady is quite out of sympathy with the whole of her surroundings. Tho story deals with her hatred for all about her, 'and her ultimate escape, or rather rescue, from marriage with a Chinaman after Chinese ways. The love episode round which everything turns is beautifully treated and 'he picture isono that leaves plea, nnf fellings in its train. Altogether, the programme is a most acceptable one, and quite up to what one expects it either theatre.
