DUNEDIN DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club fired the second competition for Messrs Proudfoot and Speight's prizes on Saturday. Scores:
KIWI DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. ' The second competition for the club’s prizes was fired on Saturday afternoon, when there was a large muster of members. At 300 yards the weather was fine, with a dull light and slight right drift, and some good scoring* resulted. After the first 12 men had shot at 500 yards rain net in and the light became worse, making it very difficult for the remainder to see, and the scoring was not so good. Rifleman A. M’Farlane was in great form, scoring 31 and 35—total GO. His targets reads thus: 300 yard 5—5545555 ; 34. 500 yards—ssSssss; 35. This score beats Rifleman Rains’s record score of last week on account of having the best score at the longer range. Rifleman M'Farlane is to be highly congratulated on his splendid performance. Rifleman F. Dolphin (B Grade) registered 34 at 500 yards, also a brilliant shoot for a young shot. Condiions: 7 shots at 300 and 500 yards.
