CITY COUNCIL ELECTION
THE OFFICIAL RECOUNT. The returning officer (Mr G. A. Lewin) and liis stall completed the official recount on Saturday morning of the votes recorded in connection with the City Council election. The official figures do not involve any alteration in the relative positions of the elected candidates; but among those who were defeated ox-CT .T. M'Donald replaces ex-Or Jeffery in the 15th position, and Mr H. T. Sanders replaces Mr H. A. Le Cren in the 19th position. Altogether 10,287 voters went to the poll, as compared with 12,125 at the election two years ago; and after deducting the 354 informal votes it was found that each voter voted for 10.34 candidates.
