NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Otago Harbour Board proposes to adopt a New By-law fixing new harbour ■ improvement rates on imports and exports and providing method of calculating tho same, and new provisions- aa to transhipment of goods, also fixing new pilotage rates, harbourmaster’s fees, port charges, and berthage, including a provision as to minimum charges in respect of pilotage rates and port charges; also fixing charges where goods are landed for the convenience of the ship, and in the cases of ships working overtime, and where the Board’s premises are used for the purpose of opening or adjusting consignments for tho purpose of removing them by > their own power or otherwise; also providing a new scale and set of conditions in regard to towage and the use of the Board’s cranes; also special provisions with regard to coal reshipped for coaling steamers in the port, providing for proportionate charge on quantity less than that stated, with a minimum charge of threepence; providing that the Board shall not be liable for strikes, lockouts, or riot* in the case of receiving and delivering goods; repealing “23rd November, 1868,” in Section 1 of By-law 1907, and substituting “22nd April '1875.” and making provision as to liability of agents; and also a new By-law providing a new scale and set of conditions for the use- of the Board’s docks, cranes, and sheerlegs at Port Chalmers, and for the use of floats, and also berthage in the case of tho Board’s wharves at Port Chalmers, and making provision as to liability of agents, and making other provisions relating to entry in tho dockyard and the use and misuse of the dock and appliances; and that each euch proposed By-latv has been _ printed. and is now open to public inspection at the Office of the Board during office hours; and, further, that each such By-law will he submitted for adoption at a Sperial Meeting of the Board to bo he'd at the Board’s Office on THURSDAY, the 31st day of March, 1921, at 4 p.m. W.
