(Received March 18, at 5.5 p.m.) Chicago courts dismissed, the indict mehts against:the baseball players charged with conspiring to allow their opponents to win the 1020 world series of contests on the application of the State Prosecutor, who announced that the case -collapsed owing to the repudiation of confessions by players.
The trial of the gamblers who allegedly bribed players has been indefinitely, postponed, The action of the prosecution has caused amazement in sports circles in America, which are anxious to clear away all suspicion attached to professional haseball.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
