. THE GORALA. Tho British India Steam Navigation Company’s steamer Gorala, which arrived at. Lyttelton on March 15 from New Orleans, with a cargo of sulphate, to the agency of the Union Steam Ship Company, is a single-screw steamer, built by Messrs Workman, dark, and 00. Her principal dimensions are: — Length, 400 ft; breadth, 62ft Bin; depth, 28ft 4in; with a gross tonnage of 6220. There are five, holds arranged for bulky cargo, and the pillaring arrangements have been designed to render the holds free from obstruction. The machinery, also built £y Messrs Workman, Clark, and Co"., consists of triple expansion engines, and Che speed of the vessel on her trials was 11.5 knots. , As is usual Path this company’s ships, the Gorala carries a coolie crew.
