(Pm United Pjbesb Association.) NELSON, March 17. Following are the results of to-day’s playing:— B GRADE CONTEST. Bth (South Canterbury) Mounted Rifles Band, 282 points 1 Westport Garrison, 278 points 2 Gisborne City 277 points 3 Palmerston North Municipal, 269 points 4 E FLAT SOPRANO CORNET SOLO.— J. Harding (Masterton Municipal), 90 points, 1; T. M'Lean (St. Kilda), 85, 2; Frances (Wanganui Garrison), 81, 3. Other competitors: Greymouth Citizens, 266 points; Christchurch Tramway, 257; Nelson National- Reserve, 246; 9th (Hawke’s Bay) and Masterton Municipal, 236; Ist (Canterbury) Regimental, 221. . A recount of the B Grade test competition resulted in Westport Garrison and Gisborne City tieing for second place. B FLAT CORNET SOLO.—B. Wills (Invercargill Hibernian), 99 points; F. Lound (Marion), 96; R. A. Wills (Invercargill), 94; W. H. Osborne. (Bth South Canterbury), 94. The judge said that the playing was of a very fine standard, and was much bettor than it had been for some time. He regarded the winner as a marvel. There were 21 competitors. FLUGEL HORN SOLO—R. Ward (Christchurch Tramways), 81 points; B. C. Johansen (Palmerston North),' 74; J. Walker (South Canterbury), 68. '
