Dunedin Chambers in their efforts to obtain Government consent to make this year’e income tax payable in two six-monthly inslal- ■ ments; such concession to be granted with-, out restrictions, so N as to place all income tax payßrs on the same footing. ’ , In the course of the discussion it was emphasised that the collection of £12,000,900 in practically two months in income tax :»nd under the compulsory loan clauses would result in serious consequences to the.,industries and commerce of the dominion.,
