INTERPROVINCIAL JHATCH. OTAGO v. CANTERBURY. The representative match between Otago and Canterbury, to be played at Carisbrook Ground on Friday, Saturday, and Monday, is caqsibg a great deal of interest in cricket circles] The match should provide some bright and interesting cricket, and some good batting should be witnessed. The Canterbury team includes several new players, who are making their first appearance in Dunedin, W. R. Patrick and D. Sandman are well known to followers of the game, while R. C. Blunt has on previous oocasions'proved that he is going to be one of Canterbury’s leading batsmen. The visitors will arrive by the first express this evening. The match will commence at 2 p.iru on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday. AUSTRALIANS DEFEAT MANAWATU. (Peb United Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., February 16. The Australians beat Manawatu by an innings and 75 runs. The Australians in the first innings made 514 runs. Liddicut (not out 153) and Asher (60) were the principal scorers. .Manawatu’s second innings produced only 59 runs. Ogden (39 not out) was the only batsman to reach double figures.
