ASIATIC EGG TRADE
' POULTRY FARMERS MENACED, PROHIBITION OF PULP. (Pn Unitkd Pmss Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, February 14. ’ A deputation of returned soldier pdultry farmers waited on the Prime Minister at Christchurch to-day in connection with the Asiatic egg trade. The deputation said that they were menaced by the trade in Chinese egg pulp, and if they went to the wall the Government would bo left with the biggest farm settlements in New Zealand on its hands. Mr Massey said he had no sympathy with the importation of egg pulp, and would see if it was possible to prohibit pulp without legislation, but he doubted it. He knew the temper of Parliament on the matter, and as soon as a prohibition could be imposed it would be done.
