We have received a bundle of current magazines from Gotdon and Gotch (Ltd,), which are acknowledged with thanks. The Strand for December opens with the first of a series of “Mr Cray’s Adventures, by E. Phillips Oppenheim, which promise interest and excitement for the reader. A wide and varied contents bill includes the filth instalment of Sir Conan Doyle s articles on Spiritualism, entitled “The Absolute Proof”; “Law and Laughter,” by Chase Waxe”; a dressing-room chat with Mr Gerald dlu Manner, which, together with short stories, and several ether well-illustrated features complete an interesting issue. The Wide World for December covers a wide range of subjects. In the realm of sport “The Temple of the Tapirs,” by Harry H. Dunn; in travel “Among the Bolshevists,” by David Masters; and “A Kedah Buffalo Fight,” by James F. Augustin; and in adventure “The Saving of the Cardiura,” by Joseph Heighten; “The Hinton Murder Case,” by Henry G. Tinsley, and “My Rest Cure,” by Captain E. A. Evans, are worthy of special mention. Other articles and a full bill of fiction complete the number. The Grand for December is a particularly strong fiction number, including Dolf Wyllarde, A. M. Burrage, Dorothea Conyers, A. G. Greenwood, P. G. Wodohouso, and others in' the list of contributors. The range is varied and calculated to suit tho tastes of all readers. The Royal opens with a picturesque selection of photographs illustrating tli© confessions of Miss Elvira Henderson, “one of the most charming flappers at present adorning the stage." G. B. Lancaster, Edward Cecil, William Le Queux, and several other noted writers combine in presenting an attractive Royal for November. Children’s Dress and Daily Mail Fashions, both for November, appeal to feminine tastes. The former includes designs of five pretty garments for children’s dress. In addition to being a children’s dress number Daily Mail Fashions c'-ntains an article bv Bessie Asoough, on dressing children, and both publications are replete wth hints and suggestions on the subject so dear to feminine hearts. , ■
