FEILDING SHOW

CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. (Peb United Press Association.) FEILDING, February 1. The Feilding Show was opened to-day by {he Hon. W. Nos worthy, Minister of Agriculture. The Minister congratulated the district on the stock exhibits. In his opening speech ho stated that the Government had arranged to send a ship to the Argentine early in March. He appealed to Eomney breeders especially and to apple growers to help make up a cargo. The show exhibits increased compared with last year. An improvement was shown in the fat sheep aijd lamb classes. In the cattle section Jerseys and Shorthorns wore particularly good, reflecting the good season experienced. Champions.—Shorthorn bull and cow, Sir W. C. Buchanan; Hereford bull and cow, A. E. Sandelands; Polled Angus bull and cow, J. P. Knight; Ayrshire bull and cow, A. Montgomerie; Jersey bull, Dr Watson; cow, H. J. Lancaster; Friesian bull, BloomFarm Company; cow, H. R. Green; milking Shorthorn bull, R. V. Browne; cow, J. do la Haye; draught horse, Donald Estate; Romney ram, W. F. Jacob; ewe, J. Knight; Lincoln ram, W. Howard Booth; owe, T. R. Taylor: Southdown ram and ewe, J. Knight; Shropshire ram, G. L. Marshall; ewe, Sir James Wilson; maiden hunters’ competition, Desmond Bros.’ Bendigo.
