INCOME TAX PAYMENTS

NO CONCESSION BY DEPARTMENT.

(Peb United Pbiss Association.) WELLINGTON, January 29. The Income Tax Department says that the telegram from _ Christchurch dealing with certain concessions and modifications in the method of payment of income tax is not correct. All that has been done is that in one or two cases the commissioner consented to an arrangement between the taxpayer and his banker for accommodation. No concession has been given, and the amount of the tax has to be paid in cash by the due date. The accommodation is really between the taxpayer and his hanker.
