AUCKLAND’S ANNIVERSARY

(Peb United Press Association.) , AUCKLAND, January 30. Anniversary Day was celebrated yesterday in good weather. The principal attractions were the Takapuna raees and the Auckland regatta, which passed off successfully. The motor launch speed championship of New Zealand, over a 12-mile course, was won by W. M‘K. Geddes’s Haruru, whose speed works out at 16i knots. The Defender, the only other starter, developed a speed of 16 knots, and was beaten by Imin 2sec.
