TOKOMAIRIRO RIVER BOARD

An election of members of the Tokomairiro River Board was held. at the Coronation Hall, Milton, yesterday. More than usual interest in local politics Was taken in ttho event, there being candidates for seven seats, and the polling was fairly heavy. The result was as follows Milton Borough Subdivision—George Dabinatt 130 Alexander Rennie 129, Alexander E. Stewart 102, James Grey 90, J. M. Duthie 71 (the first three were elected); Bruce County Subdivision —James Nelson 70, John Allison, inn., 64, John Milk* 59, R. Michelle 58, ' Robert Clark 56, John J. Jones 46, James Bruce’39, Thomas Mills 27 J. Blondell 19 (the first four were elected). Messrs Stewart, Allison, Miller, Michelle, and Bruce were members of the retiring board, Mr Stewart having been chairman.
