VINCENT RACES. The Vincent race meeting was concluded on Monday in glorious weather. The attendance was not quite so large as that on the first day, which was a record for the club. The fields in the main events were small, but the racing was 'keenly contested, and some excellent finishes were seen. The starting was excellent, and the general management of the meeting was most favourably commented on. ! The totalisator receipts amounted to £6500. (Per United Press Association.) WANGANUI, January 11. As an outcome of the inquiry held to-day bv the Wanganui District Committee, the three months’ disqualification imposed on F S. Easton, of Foxton. and the one month’s disqualification on W. J. Trask, in connection with the racing of the horse named Stevens in 1913 by Trask, while it was a disqualified horse, having been disqualified under a man named Wright in 1912 were confirmed. Easton is lodging an appeal with the Racing Conference on the grounds that the verdict was against the weight of evidence and that no offence or corrupt practice under the rules of racing was proved to have been committed. SWIMMING. LADIES’ HANDICAP AT WANGANUI. MISS BLETBTREY BREAKS ' WORLD’S RECORD. (Pkb United Press Association.) WANGANUI, January 11. At a swimming carnival held to-night Miss Ethelda Bleibtrcy, Olympic champion, swimming in the 50 yards Ladies’ Handicap, covered the distance in 29 seconds—a new world's record.
