The Masterton Borough Council to-night decided to observe Saturday as the statutory half-holiday in lieu of Thursday, which has been the closing day for many years. AUCKLAND. January 11. The steamer Waikouaiti. which arrived from Liverpool to-day, after a very rough trip, brought 28 prize cattle, sheep, and pigs for the dominion, including an Aberdeen Angus bull, valued at £IOOO, for Wellington.
