GENERAL GABLE NEWS

Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LOKDON, January 11. The Teheran correspondent of The Times states that a majority of the Persian aristocrats, including Ministers and ex-Ministers, at a meeting favoured the acceptance of the Soviet terms for a treaty, excepting the clauses relating to Socialism in Persia and unlimited consular representation. They expressed the view that no pourparlers should be held until the Soviet troops retire from the front in North Persia.—Times. WASHINGTON, January 10. It is reported that the United States has decided to withdraw from the Council of Ambassadors’ meeting in Paris, which is to consider Peace Treaty matters, on the ground that the present Administration is not in a position to interpret the American people’s will as a result of the November election.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
