INCREASING ENLISTMENTS. RESULT OF HIGHER PAT. (Pee United Pekss AMrtiATioH.f WELLINGTON, January 11. As a result of increasing enlistments in the police force it is understood that the police depot in Wellington, which has been closed during the period of the war, will be reopened at the end of the month, under the control of Senior Sergeatft M’Namara. It is departmentally stated that the increased rates of pay have attracted a fine stamp of recruit, and the class will be for the benefit of these men. Men of the ages of- 20 and 21 are enlisting freely, and the majority intend to make police work their profession.
