The court has met the difficulty by a redistribution of the 48 hours to be worked in the week bv increasing the hours of the late mght by two and decreasing the hours of work on the weekly half-holiday by the same number. In the recent case before the Court of Appeal it was admitted by counsel representing the union that the place of engagement clause was beyond the jurisdiction of the court, and it has therefore been struck out of the present award."
