EMPIRE THEATRE
"Piccadilly Jim" is the feature of the new programme which was screened yesterday for the first time at the Empito Theatre. Jim Braithwaito Crocker, who w the principal character, has been involved in more scrapes than any man in England, and after punching a nobleman's head ho decides to go to America. This fits in admirably with the wishes of Mr and Mrs Augustus Pett, his American uncle and aunt, whose social, aspirations his newspaper notoriety has seriously jeopardised. Jim goes to America, not with his aunt and uncle, however, and not until ho has met and won the one girl in ail the world. In America all sorts of complication's arise. There are plotters and kidnappers and adventurers, but finally .Timmy. convinces the girl of his heart that marriage with James Crocker, once known as "Piccadilly Jim," might not be such a bad thing after all. The supports include a good comedy, entitled "The Grocery Clerk," and several other excellent pictures. In, addition, the music at this theatre is a feature of the enjoyable evening's entertainment • '-
