CHEISTCHTJBCH, September 24 The council of the New Zealand Uugby Union has telegraphed to the head master of the Christchurch Boys' High School that the referee's decision in the Ifoascar Cup match is final, and the trophy is definitely the school's property until nexS season. This telegram relates to tho Christchurch team'e oifer to meet the Palmerston North High School's fifteen in another match this month ia Ohristehurch.

LAWN TENNIS. The annual meeting of the St. Clair Lawn Tennis Club was held in the School Gymnasium last Wednesday. There was a good attendance of present and intending members, the report and balance sheet being read and adopted. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr H. C. Campbell-vice-presidents, Messrs W. Speight and piddiugtonsecretary, Mr W. York; committee—Mrs Titcherier' Misses Oswin, Piddington, M'lntyre, Blyth, Messrs Bradley and Thomson. It was decided to fix the opening day for Saturday, October 2. y

CAVEESHA3I CLUB. The annual meeting of the Cavereham Lawn Tennis Club was held in the club's pavilion Hazel avenue, last Monday night. Mr G. Swan occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance of members. The annual report stated that the club had had a very successful season. A team was entered in C Grade, and was successful in winning a good number of matches. Some minor repairs had been effected on and abont the courts, aad this season promised to be even more successful than the last. The election of ofiice-bearere resulted as follows—Patron, Mr T. K. Sidcy; president, Mr W. Wright; vice-presidents—Mrs Meekison, Messrs 3? Wilkinson. Paine, E. Butherford, H, W. Butherford, Snowball, and Foreter; secretary, Mr A. B. Falconer; treasurer, Mr C. H. Duncan; general committee—Misses Provo, Jefferson, Townrow, and Paine, Messrs Hallcy and Murray. It was decided that the opening day be held on Saturday, October 2.
