(Received Sept. 23, at 7.55 p.m.) At tho wool sales tbcro was a very poor demand, and GO per cent, of tlie offerings were withdrawn, consisting cliiofly of medium low crossbrods and average faulty merinos. Other luorinoa wero unchanged—A. and / Cable. ANTWERP, September 22. Afc tho sales of River Plato (Argentine) wool 8783 bales were offered, but only GGS were sold.—A. and K.Z. Cable.
Dalgety and Co. report having* received tho following cable from London, dated September 21:^ —"Wool eales opened, attendance 02 buyers is fair; competition is irregular; fair selection. Continental buyers ore" tho principal purchasers. As compared -with Inst sales closing rates snpor merino wools, greasy, 10 per cent, lower; merino wools of other descriptions, greasy, 15 £er cent, lower; crossbred wools, fine quality greasy, 5 per ©cmt. lower; crossbred wools, medium quality greasy, 10 por cent, lower; coarse crossbred wools, greasy, market, neglected; soonred and crossbred wools, 10 to 15 per cent, lower."
