BETTING ON FOOTBALL GROUNDS.
PREVENTIVE MEASURES BY RUGBY LEAGUE.
(Peb United Pbess Association.) AUCKLAND, September 22. The Auckland Rugby League dccided tonight to take effective measures to prevent betting on football grounds, or interference with players or referees. It was also decided to exclude betting men iroin the League's ground. During the discussion it was stated that betting was very prevalent, and it was having a detrimental effect on the game.
